Light ’em Up!
Imagine drawing on the wall of a cave or trying to paint the ceiling of a 16th Century Chapel using nothing but a couple of candles to illuminate what you’re working on. Today’s hobbyist, craftsmen and artists don’t have to rely on the light emitted by a few candles. We can have ample lighting to see what we are doing with just the flip of a switch. This is accomplished through the use of overhead lights, task lights, and key lights. As an added bonus, in the 21st century we have access to full spectrum lighting and magnification lamps!

When making jewelry with wire it’s important to understand the differences in composition, size and hardness of the wire, as this will dictate the type of wire cutters you will need to use.

Summer Projects & Prototypes
It’s officially summer and for some of us that means creative projects get put on the back burner and beach trips are the focus. At least this is true for me! I am currently in the process of moving and clearing out my old home office/ studio. It is simultaneously the best and worst feeling. Organizing and sorting my bead hoard is exciting; I am finding so many awesome components and supplies that I completely forgot about. However it is also one of the most daunting, unending tasks I’ve ever tackled. Too many tiny messy things! As I am slogging through the debris at home, here at Xuron lots of progress is being made. We have been brainstorming and testing new prototypes; definitely one of my favorite parts of the job!
