In 2014 we introduced our Model 441 Thread & Cord Scissors. The concept for this tool came from being at trade events and interacting with bead weavers and jewelry makers who wanted a small (hand-friendly) scissors that would hold up to Fireline® and other high strength (and hard to cut) threads used for bead weaving.
At the BeadFest Expo in Philadelphia I spotted Jill Wiseman, of Jill Wiseman Designs, and in moment of uncharacteristic braveness, I introduced myself and asked if she would be willing to try it and give us her feedback. We knew the scissors was good, but we also knew we needed a “thumbs up” from an expert in the bead weaving field. Jill provided that for us and I am forever grateful for the fact that she was kind enough test drive it for us she now sells it on her web site.
One Tool, Many Uses
Aside from cutting bead weaving thread, the Model 441 Thread & Cord Scissors is also very useful for cutting monofilament, waxed linen, leather and suede cord (3mm diameter maximum), elastic cord, silk thread, pearl knotting thread, sewing thread, embroidery floss, hemp cord and yarn. An extensive list!
