If you’re on Facebook (and who isn’t these days), you’re likely familiar with Facebook Live broadcasting. Live broadcasts are just that, ‘live’. Media outlets are using this as are many businesses and individuals.
What do I like about Facebook Live?
- Interaction – I can comment and ask questions and get real time answers.
- Past Broadcasts are stored – If I can’t catch a live broadcast I can still watch as all broadcasts are stored unless the original poster decided to delete them.
- Variety of topics – From cooking to fly fishing to jewelry making, Facebook Live broadcasts are plentiful and cover many areas of interest.
In the world of beads and jewelry making, some of the live broadcasts I’m currently watching include:
Brenda Schweder Jewelry – Brenda Schweder was one of the early adopters of Facebook live broadcasting. She goes ‘live’ approximately twice a week teaching techniques and offering tips for using her wire forming tool, the Now That’s A Jig! Brenda’s style is casual, fun and very interactive. Xuron Corp. is proud to sponsor Brenda’s broadcasts by offering a variety of tools as prizes for her monthly design challanges.
Beadshop.com – Kate Richbourg was another early user of live broadcasting and she has a natural spark on camera. Kate offers free tips on Fridays and on other days you’ll see Kate with either Janice or Emily having a grand time while introducing a new project or technique.
Beads and Bubbles with Nealay Patel – Nealay is another natural behind the camera and his broadcasts are fun to watch He features quick and easy projects using materials sourced from Jesse James Beads.
CJ Beaders is a brick and mortar bead shop in England. By watching their broadcasts I get a feel for what items are popular in the UK and I enjoy it when they broadcast from local trade shows. Feels like I’m there without having to travel !
