Exhibiting at the Bead & Button Show was an eye-opening experience in so many ways. Not the least of which was learning what kinds of challenges beader weavers face when trying to cut FireLine®. FireLine® is a braided, high-strength fiber, and if you’ve ever tried to cut it, you will understand the frustration — it looks innocent enough, but it is abrasive and will dull the edges of a traditional scissor in no time.
Since fishermen primarily use FireLine®, it is reasonable to expect that they, too, have ruined scissors, fishing nippers, and maybe even teeth trying to cut the stuff.
To the rescue — Xuron®’s 9180 FireLine® Scissors was developed and designed to cut the Kevlar® fiber portion of fiber optic cables, and it is a natural solution for FireLine®. It cuts through it like butter, leaving clean, crisp ends. This tool is a dream come true for beaders and fishermen — two unlikely groups with a common frustration that can now be turned into joy.
