In early April I had the pleasure of attending (as a non-selling vendor) the Southern Maine Scale Modeler’s Annual Model Contest, Downeastcon. This event attracted scale model builders from Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts and beyond.
When I first heard that the HMA (Hobby Manufacturer’s Association) was moving the annual iHobby Expo from Chicago (Rosemont), Illinois to Cleveland, Ohio, I was, to say the least underwhelmed. That feeling, however, lasted about 5 minutes. I had to put aside my “creature of habit” attitude and realize that a new venue is good for everyone — especially the consumers in the Cleveland area that will have the opportunity to experience this event and meet with major hobby product manufacturers (like Xuron Corp)!
As a model hobbyist where do you go when you need to know how to apply a decal, the best way to install a DCC system for your model train set or how to keep your model plane from crashing (that one’s for my Dad)?
Customer feedback can, and does, have an impact on product design and this sometimes means we need to make changes based on what you are telling us.
As of April 1, 2012, our Modeler’s Took Kit (p/n TK2100) will contain our Model 440 High Precision Scissors in place of the Model SS-6 Utility Scissors.
